It been 100 working day in ABB already.
Contribution and Achievements is hopefully rewarded.

After the Guthrie Engineering Pte Ltd - I have some issues to ask Lynette Tay, the purchaser who completed the survey form for us. Just to do some clarification and feedback from her.
Completed the Name Badges fo the SAS meeting next week.

I have to be very careful of penning out the name badges using the pen knife. Checking the name of the top management whether of their names are printed correctly.
Went up to corp comm office to completed all the name badges.
Around 6.30pm completed the badges.

Work OT until 8.30pm to compile all the feedback from the survey conducted the last 2 weeks in the excel file and update the graphs. 8.30pm off at work.

This week, Phil Chan from the drives department. Hence, our marketing dept having a farewell lunch together with him.

These few days, we have a few rebound ABBtoday Customer Magazine back to ABB. We have to update the Main Database of the rebound magazine.

Transfer the artwork to T-drive for Ying Hua to collect and check and to print it out.

This morning, Steve have finished up the programming in Isabel's room and returning the CPU back to me. I have to complete the material codes excel file first of all. As well as the artwork of the name badges.
Valarie helped me in some of the type of the products - ordering code.

around 11am, I and Michelle have to go out to meet Sueanne Chong at Huat Heng Engineering Pte Ltd. Miss Chong is not around. Hence, his fellow colleagues, the design panel, 2 purchaser have to attend to us with the survey. How much they know about the ABB product and the problems they always faced.

After the survey, we waited 15 minutes no avail of Taxi at East Coast Highway. Hence, we have to take a few buses back to office. Claiming my transportation fees. The usual thing i have to do, every survey conducted.

Day 97

Today back to office. My CPU was loan to Steve for some programming for our new division - Low Voltage Products, Isabel Chong. Testing the sensors of the room.
Hence, i have alot of things holding back.

Meanwhile, keying all the names in ying hua's laptop for the name badges. The artwork still have some extra borders at the side. Been trying yet failed. Hence, she request me to bring my laptop which i have the adobe indesign in my laptop to do the artwork.

At around 4pm, I and Michelle went out to meet James Lee - Factory Manager from S-Team Switchgear Pte Ltd at 29 Tai Seng Avenue at Natural Cool Lifestyle Hub. This building have a very interesting pass from the security in order to access to level 4 - 6. Which we have to access to level 5 to meet the customer. We waited almost half an hour. The receptionist have informed James but he is still have some things cooped up have to settle urgently.

Michelle handed me a material code to enter the ordering code for the suppliers.
There are many material codes to browse through from the catalog.
Some of the modular parts/products, I seek help from Valarie, Lionel and Edwin.

Day 94

Ying Hua is guiding and teaching me how to write ABB intranet articles.
For the feb, there is an top management meeting at fairmont hotel.
I and Ying Hua are doing some name badges for the attendee from regional top management.
The artwork was a big times. We spent a few days doing and alignment of the images and the corporate guidelines. Printing out to check some of the wordings and artwork done. Numberous amendments made as well.

Late morning, Mr Lim SY and John need to me to write the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) from the PDF file. They lost the softcopy and need me to type the NDA and re-edit the file for the tender to sign.

As well as, this assignment was in a rush to completed. Around 4 plus. Mr Lim SY came back office and printed out the copy to him and send him a copy of the document that i've done.
In the noon, I have been trying to called Michael Lee - Guthrie Engineering Pte Ltd. It seem not able to get through him. He did not pick up his calls. I have to try again tmr.

Motivation Talk by Viktor Predan, Swede
He is very self-driven person. Whatever, he does, he is very positive towards his setting of his goals. He did not give up half-way through the journey as he went through different country with different tongues. He is not trained to be a cyclist, but he challenge himself by travelling from Sweden to Singapore in 7+ mths completing his journey.

In a way that, out of his comfort zone. He also couchsurfing around for his lodge.
He mentioned "It is amazing to reach a goal you have been working for so long. Here in Singapore the pace hace been kept up through holding presentations about the trip for different organizations. In fact, the last week has been totally amazing. Feels like a good reward after the sometimes tough cycling."

Along the way in his journey, his bicycle brokedown and he He faced problems of fixing his bicycle in India. He also met very nice couchsurfer to help him. He have to buy a new bicycle in order to continue the journey to Singapore.

Low Voltage Systems inaugurates newly renovated workshop
Dr. Reino Buchmueller, manager for Low Voltage Systems (LVS) business unit and Sanjeev Sharma, SAS/NAS region manager for LVS, were in town to officiate the opening of our newly renovated low voltage switchgear manufacturing workshop.

More than 80 colleagues witnessed the new facilities and technology of what the new workshop can offer.

The newly renovated workshop is now equipped with:
- Leveled floor for accurate and quality production of panels
- High precision tools to ensure quality products and improve efficiency
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) system for efficient replenishment of materials
- Lifeline for working at heights safely
- Copper dust suction system for a safer and healthier working environment

Been lately quite busy, late posting due to the training attended.
More and less of the things on my hands are quite completed. Except for some events are going on like Panel Builder Day and some products to be launch during late feb.

Michelle handed me one panel builder contact to make appointment for the survey.
After a long suspense, I'm back going out and meet the customer again.
I have to call and make appointment with S-team Switchgear Pte Ltd with James Lee.

In the late noon, Mr Ong PS gave me a book on some motor trailing torque. With ABB guidelines and Powerpoint templates, I have to make 2 chapters into PowerPoint slides.
Scanning the graphs and images into PDF file and cut and copy into ppt slides.
Completed 11 slides for the day. To be continue tmr.

Day 90

We learnt: The Electronic Starters: Softstarters and Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
How the soft start & soft stop a motor, what the benefits of the softstarters application as well as to replace the Rheostat Resistor.

For connection/wiring up: Softstarter and VSD, 3 coil Autotransformer.
How to select the right motor starter is also based on the graph of how the starter can varies on the load of the application.

The training is abit dry and lots of hands-on so as to really see and understand of the usage of the products(starters).

Around 3pm, I have left the office to go back school to take napfa.

Today, I attended the full day training for the motor starters.

I have learnt the selection of the Thermal Overload Relay & The Manual Motor Starter.
How the A-line contactors Design and the safety of using the magnet system circuits and the main terminals etc.

The characteristics of Star Delta Starter - General condition, Type A - Low Starting Torque, Type B - High Starting Torque, Full Load Starting.

The Characteristics of Autotransformer Starter.
we have a few group doing each type of starter, I and Valarie is doing the Autotransformer typical circuit Diagram on the wiring and connecting with the motor.
As well some doing the Star Delta Starter connection: Forward and Reversed star delta connection.

Today, Winnie bringing me along with her EPC consultant visit to Worleyparsons at Triple One Somerset at Orchard at 11am appointment with NS Koh and Tommy. NS Koh and Tommy is conducting some training/brief introduction on the Surge Protection Device.
We took numberous of brochures/catalog of surge protection devices, Photovoltaics Protection and DEMO Sets as well.

Had our lunch and heading back to office.

Moreover, this morning we have this intensive motor starter Internal Training for all the sales and service people. Mr Ong PS, was the in charge and he have a broad knowledge of guiding us and hands on connection of the motor starter, contactors and how to select the right motor starter based on the load applications.

In this training, we have learnt:
- A introduction of the mechanical system, electrical system and motor.

- Conventional Starters - Direct On Line (DOL) Starters, Star Delta Starters, Autotransformer Starters and other starters as well.

The A-line contactors we have the ABB - A9 contactors specification, graphs, AC3 contactor.
On the connection of DOL starters, we had several experiments of testing the motor running rpm and how long the motor start to run and stop and placing a wooden plane to jammed the motor, it took 5.6 seconds to stop.

Collect 195 of ABB today magazine from Letchmi at the reception.
Checking of the ABBtoday mag addresses of the customer. Any duplicate name or addresses.

This noon, our team have a farewell lunch with Nazreen, moving on to Process Automation Division handling with the Customer Call Centre. Thanked her for the hardwork.
Around 2.15pm left the office, cabbing down to Sanwa industrial Building 28 Woodlands loop. Supposedly to meet Belinda Toh but she was busy, went down to site. Hence, Ben Low and Eddie Kee attended to us. Ben feedback and share a number of cases, they encountered.

Clearing out all the marketing material in the Customer Call Centre. The room will be under renovation. Customer Call Centre no longer under marketing dept due to the new alignment of the division.

Around 1pm, I went out with Michelle to conduct survey. Continued with the list given previously. a lot of obstacles throughout the process in the big company.

I was meeting Tech Infinity Pte Ltd at Tagore Lane with Mr Seah CL. Sometimes, when you conducting the survey. Not all the surveyee will attended to you and share things with you. He do have problems of using ABB products after installed. This is also why this survey supposed to be.

Aftermath, back to office at 3pm and repack the brochures and repack the stationary cupboard.
Last of all, create an inventory tracking for some managing diary and organiser. To keep track of the items taken.

Today Afternoon, went to help Catherine Tay, SCM Supply Chain Management office to do the Letters of change of company name. For example like the pasting the stickers of ABB Pte. Ltd. and the addresses for the suppliers. As well as to double checking for any incompleted address like company name, address, unit no. We have 4 thousands plus of letter in the rush to be done.
